No notifications received on SOME text messages. Why? I don’t get notices from the people listed in favorites on iPhone for example.

Since noticing that you're not getting notifications from some of you contacts, have you double checked your Do Not Disturb settings to see if they are correct for how you want your notifications received, when this feature is enabled? If not, take a look at article, Use Do Not Disturb with Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support for information about your settings and change as needed.

Change your Do Not Disturb settings

If you don't want to be disturbed at a certain time, you can set a schedule and change other Do Not Disturb features to help you concentrate.

1. Go to Settings > Focus.

2. Tap Do Not Disturb.

3. You can select allowed or silenced notifications from people and apps, connect your Lock Screen or Home Screen, have this Focus turn on automatically, and add Focus filters.

Hey dwighthomer47, if you remove the Favorite status from one of those contacts and have them send you a text message, do you get a notification for it? Use Contacts from the Phone app on iPhone - Apple Support
