Microphone Compatibility for Apple TV and Sing
With Apple Sing just announced, does anyone know of any Bluetooth compatible microphones that will work with Apple TV?
would be a great stocking filler for the kids this Christmas

We have achieved success and have been having fun. We ordered the Rockville RKI65BT Dual UHF Wireless Microphones+Bluetooth Karaoke Mic Interface https://a.co/d/1an8IZ8
It has a 3.5mm and a 1/4” output so you connect it to an external speaker. It also includes audio enhancing features like reverb so you can sound a little better. We have it connected to a guitar amp. The singing comes out the amp and the music comes out our Apple TV/HomePod.
(I would love it if you could just pair a BT mic with the ATV and have the app integrate the audio but oh well)
Other simpler, cheaper options include getting Mics that have their own built in speakers in the mic itself. There seem to be a lot of very inexpensive choices out there but I don’t know how well they work.
That’s my set-up, but can’t get past the fact that the audio has to go into the Apple TV as a second input which isn’t supported by the hardware. Then the audio would have to allow simultaneous outputs from Apple Music and the mic input. Seemed promising but ran into a dead end there. What am I missing? Really appreciate the thread. Trying to get a karaoke party going for my wife’s birthday.
anyone know how to utilize an external mic with Apple TV sing. We would love to utilize this feature on our surround sound or whole house system but i can’t find a way.
Anyone else solved this?
Is apple planning any karaoke style options?

@IdrisSeabright Actually what you said was, “It's not clear to me what you'd need a microphone for.”
Which is still not saying, "You don't need one". My not understanding why you need something doesn't mean you don't need it.
This is a fairly old thread now but I thought I would comment. While I don't think what you did was what was assumed, that was kind of a knee-jerk reaction because of the quite often comments of "just do it the proper way and get such and such $500 item," or "Google is your friend, go look," or "If you would have just searched," or especially "Why do you need this? Just use it as it is intended."
Again, I know that is NOT what you were saying LOL, but it happens SO often that I think our internet generation has forgotten maybe we should implement a new internet rule, "If you won't say it to someone's face, then don't say it via keyboard." Because I see that kind of answer all the time and it is so frustrating and wastes time and space, you know what I mean? So I think the Op jumped the gun a bit, I do understand why, but you weren't doing that. :)

So, I wasn't doing anything you considered wrong but you wanted to tell me... I'm not really sure what. Perhaps you meant to reply to someone else?
Lets hope they (or a hardware manufacturer) sports the opportunity. Doesn't seem like a difficult thing to address
I had the same exact thought. A mic would be fun to sing into for my daughter. Bluetooth Mic would be great
hello, for the same purpose, and with an iMac, do you think a shure Bluetooth microphone coud do the job? There is a micro like that in the shop but it is for recording not singing….
Here is a thinking about using iPhone as a microphone with sing on iMac …. For the futur

@IdrisSeabright Actually what you said was, “It's not clear to me what you'd need a microphone for.”
As I noted above, I have found zero indication that Sing supports microphones.
