Is there and easy way to rebuild or reset the database for the contacts app? I can barley use the app because it's so slow. On all my other devices the app runs fine. We're running the latest version of Ventura on a MacBook Air. I'm days away from receiving a new M2 MacBook Air and not sure I want to transfer the same problem to that device.
I've done some searching in the forums but all the problems are from a few years back.
Think you may find that syncing Contacts to Google and Others is the source of the issue.
Would suggest Disabling Contacts from syncing to Google firstly and then Testing if the Contacts Application functions as expected
Apple support has a couple of articles online that may be helpful.
If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync
If an app on your Mac stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open
Is the Contacts Application using More Than One source.
Example : iCloud and Google or just one source like iCloud or Only Google ?
Yes it has a few sources and Google is one of them.
