Bluetooth car / CarPlay

hi, i have a serious problem.

when I'm in the car and activate the carplay, I need to select audio call with the car speakers via its bluetooth. After selecting the source, ios automatically selects the carplay speaker and not the car speaker. The same thing happens when I'm listening to spotify with the car's bluetooth and a call comes in: the audio automatically switches to carplay and I have to manually select the output source, i.e. the car's bluetooth. This leads to dangerous distraction while driving as I always have to have the iPhone in my hand.

I tested with another iphone and it doesn't give this problem: just select the output audio source only once.

How can I solve the problem ?

thank you

Hello gerlando112,

Please check out this link which explains how to use your car's built-in controls to operate CarPlay, which may be helpful: Use CarPlay with your iPhone

Use your car's built-in controls to operate CarPlay

Cars supported by CarPlay should have built-in controls, such as a touchscreen, rotary knob, or touchpad. To learn how to operate your CarPlay display, check the manual that came with your car. You can also use Siri to control CarPlay, even if you have built-in controls.

If CarPlay isn't working as expected, please check out this link, which has some suggestions that may be helpful as well: If you need help with CarPlay

If you need help with CarPlay

If CarPlay doesn't work like you expect, learn what to do.

First, make sure that your country or region supports CarPlay and that your car supports CarPlay. If you're unsure if your car supports CarPlay, contact the vehicle manufacturer.

Make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of iOS. If your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, follow these steps — checking CarPlay after each step:

1. Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:

• If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.
• If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled under Settings > Wi-Fi and Settings > Bluetooth.

2. If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display.
3. Restart your iPhone and your car.
4. Make sure that Siri is on.
5. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
6. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
7. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

If you still have issues connecting to CarPlay, contact Apple Support.

Take care!
