Free up space not working for iMessage on iCloud?

Hi,

I wanted to clear up some space on iCloud, primarily on iMessage. I know I have one conversation in particular that is full of high quality images from years back that I want to free up some space from.

I do not want to delete everything obviously, I do want to save text messages forever, images though needs to be cleared every now and then.

But I'm not finding an easy way to do it. The "review large attachments" button seem to be removed, I can't find it.

On my iPhone, when I go to iCloud and click on messages it seems to no longer work as i'll show you in the pictures below.

It's just blank.

My question is how do I find the largest images in conversations and delete them to free up space from iMessage stored in iCloud? It does not seem to work as it did before.

Thank you in advance.

Greetings AnderssonC,

Being able to manage storage on your device and iCloud is important. In addition to managing the storage for Messages in iCloud, you can find the Review Large Attachments option in Settings > General > iPhone Storage. In addition to managing large attachments, you may find the following articles helpful in managing iCloud storage and device storage. You may also find the steps listed below helpful as well.

Manage your iCloud storage

How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad

"Choose which apps to back up on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
  2. Tap Manage Account Storage or tap Manage Storage, then tap Backups.
  3. Tap the name of the device that you're using.
  4. Turn off any apps that you don't want to back up.
  5. Choose Turn Off & Delete."

Take care!
