Dell sb522a sound bar not working on Mac Studio

Well, officially this product is not supported for macOS, so it's a "lottery". Without opened Teams app, soundbar works 90% of time well, but sometimes audio gets distorted. To be honest, if you are not planning to use this SB with a Dell monitor magnetic attachement, I would offer you to check on other product, because audio quality is not that great (my macbook pro m1 sounds better), and price is not that cheap.

before using MS teams - YES. If you turn on MS Teams app, at the very same moment audio drivers crashes and SB522A dissapears from list of I/O devices :)

I have a very similar problem.

In my case the Dell 'Slim Conferencing Soundbar SB522A' works until the 'Microsoft PowerPoint' application is started. Doing so renders the Speaker to stop working. Stopping 'PowerPoint' makes the speaker work again, and so forth...

Apple, please fix this, what seems like a driver bug ASAP, or I will have to return the Soundbar before the return window expires.

Note: The same Soundbar works fine on 'Microsoft Windows 10', including the integration with PowerPoint.

No. SB works good before opening Teams app. Right after teams starts up, audio drivers crashes and SB stops working.

Have you solved it somehow? I guess Apple neglected to cover the compatibility after an update (it had worked before it stopped). Does Apple expect me throwing my soundbar away and buying another device? Which one will be kept compatible for a while?

I have the exact same issue, but with Microsoft Teams. Everything worked perfectly fine and all of a sudden, the soundbar doesn't work anymore whenever I turn on MS Teams. Moreover, in voice conferences in other apps, after a while the sound becomes "degraded", it becomes distorted, like the audio driver is corrupted or something. If I turn on MS Teams the whole soundbar becomes unresponsive, it does not work anymore, the only solution is to close teams entirely and then either turn off and back on the monitor or unplug and plug back in the soundbar itself.

So if I understand correctly, purchasing this speaker will work for all other voice chats except for Teams at the moment? There won't be any sound problems if I don't use Teams? Or is the driver too unpredictable and it's not worth risking $80, and better to buy the version without microphones?

I have the same problem with a Mac mini M2. it turns out that Dell does not support its use with Mac only with windows but hides that information so that you buy a monitor compatible with a Mac only to find that the dell accessory doesn't work properly

If Im not wrong, MS Teams has its own audio drivers, which seems of having conflict with sb522a on macOS, probably because of soundbar integration with Teams, which is not compatible with apple. All sides telling same story - sb522a is not compatible with macOS, so it’s not a problem :)

I'm experiencing the same issue with MS Teams. Apple please fix this issue
