Apple Pay and a gift card
I received a Visa gift card and I would like to apply it to my apple pay balance. Is that possible? If so, how do I do it?

Apple Pay has no balance in and of itself. If you mean add it to Apple Cash, you cannot.
The card can be added as an additional payment method in the wallet app like any other card however.

Visa Gift cards will act like a regular debit card when added to the Wallet App.
