Using EarPods with iPhone SE (3rd generation)

The Apple online shopping page for "EarPods with Lightning Connector"

EarPods with Lightning Connector - Apple

says, under "System Requirements",

"Works with all devices that have a Lightning connector and support iOS 10

or later, including iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone."

But under "Compatibility", the iPhone SE (3rd generation) is *not* listed.

That seems like a contradiction. The same contradiction shows up with

some other accessories. I spoke about one of those accessories with an

Apple specialist at 1-800-MY-APPLE, and she confirmed that the accessory

was *not* compatible with the iPhone SE (3rd generation). However, she

didn't know the reason, and wasn't able to suggest workarounds.

What do iPhone SE (3rd generation) users do when they want to use

(wired) EarPods? If there is a solution, is there also a splitter that

supports wire-charging the iPhone SE (3rd generation) while using the

EarPods (as there is for so many other recent iPhone models)?

Hi-- Thanks for your reply. What you say makes perfect sense.

So, apparently the issue is that Apple is furnishing out-of-date

information on some of its online shopping pages. The question

becomes this: Is there a way to get Apple's attention so that the

affected webpages can be updated?

I was inclined not to believe that the iPhone SE (3rd generation) had

special incompatibilities, but I wanted to be sure, so I called

1-800-MY-APPLE. I hoped the person who took my call might say, "Oh,

no, the website is wrong, certainly the iPhone SE (3rd generation)

should be on the list of compatible devices--we need to fix the

website!" Instead, she seems to have been misled by the same bad

information that I was seeing. I consider that to be a problem.

Specifically, if (to give just one example) you go to the page

EarPods with Lightning Connector - Apple

and click/tap to expand the "Compatibility" section, you will see a

long list of iPhone models, but the iPhone SE (3rd generation) is not

on the list (as of this writing, 2022-12-08 20:40 EST):
