Apple map choosing toll routes when asked not to

my “Avoid Tolls” was selected, I passed up the instructions to enter a Toll road because I didn’t want to use the toll, and double checked it was on. Made a u-turn and followed the directions again having verified it was on “Avoid Tolls twice”,. And it took me right back to the toll road.

why? I had to pay $6 for one exit.

I do NOT want to avoid tolls on Apple Maps I have a pretty long commute and would like to use my toll pass, but Apple Maps doesn’t always show me a route that includes tolls even if it would shave up to 30 minutes off of my commute. I do not have “avoid tolls” selected. Even if I ignore the maps route and use the toll road it does not adjust and tries rerouting off the toll. Every search result is full of people having the opposite problem. It’s frustrating that Apple doesn’t have an option to always use tolls!

Apple Maps rerouting without consent How do I stop Apple Maps from rerouting me without my consent? We have an RV and follow certain routes because they can accommodate our bus. Another may be faster but roads that are too small or more turns which can be challenging and we’d prefer to avoid. Apple suggests it and then if I don’t click “no thanks” it automatically reroutes us to the faster path. We are following the path we were on. Not diverting from the original route.

Apple Maps Turn By Turn Confusion Recently (I'd say in the past few updates - ever since the introduction of the "real turn by turn" prompts) I will see a "500feet - 400feet - 300feet" in which it tells me I need to exit. However, it's telling me "not" to turn off which has caused tremendous confusion on my end. I turn off on the incorrect exit forcing me to take an alternative route. Why would they display the "500ft, 400ft, 300ft" when it's not an exit? When I don't turn off, it displays the correct distance to my next turn off. Why would Apple Maps tell me "not to turn off in xx distance?" Is there a way to disable this feature?
