Yes , I'm looking to purchase the Apple watch Ultra. My question is , how would I know what size watch band I would need , I mean they just say small , medium , large. I printed off a picture of a watch band that was supposed to help with measurements , but I'm confused . Could someone please help , thank you.

LD, the Alpine Loop and Trail Loop (specific to Apple Watch Ultra), come in different sizes. The Ocean band you showed, is the only band which is one size fits all.

To the OP. Take a piece of string and tie it to your wrist where you would typically wear a watch, marking where the two ends meet. Then measure the length and convert to MM. That number will permit you to choose the size band best for your wrist size.
OR, stop by an Apple Store and try the various sizes on.
Yes as I said what confused me is that getting straps from John Lewis UK you get both sizes in the same box. I assumed Apple.com were as generous.

A one size band is not for me. I swell up at night 👴
Solo loops can't be adjusted, but they do stretch. The Alpine Loop and Trail Loop bands can be easily adjusted as your wrist dimension changes. I've really gotten into these "loop" bands of late.
or turn the tape round to show 178 mm to avoid using a calculator (lateral thinking)
