What happened to iPad 6th gen sound quality ?

I’ve just bought a 2 TB iPad 6th gen M2, but the sound quality compared to my 3rdGen it’s noticeable. Everything is updated , the native music eq don’t seem to work other than inside the music app. YouTube sound like a deaf sound., like if I were in a big room, it’s disappointing, I’m thinking in returning the device tomorrow Sunday 11dec, I bought it yesterday. Maybe mine was defective I don’t know, can someone else tell me about your experience regarding the sound quality? I mean for a 33 hundred dollars device I was expecting good sound.

Hi Renosence,

If you haven't done so yet, restart your iPad. Although simple, this step can help correct some unexpected issues. It's also a good idea to make sure your iPad is running the latest software version since this can help with overall performance: Apple security updates. If an update is available, be sure to create a backup before installing it.

If the issue persists, some of the steps in this article could be helpful: If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker.

1. Remove all screen protectors, films, or cases from your device.

2. Check the speaker opening to see if it's blocked or dirty. On iPhone only, make sure that the receiver isn't blocked or dirty.

3. If necessary, clean the speaker or receiver opening with a small, soft-bristled brush. Make sure that the brush is clean and dry.

4. Go to Settings > Sounds (or Settings > Sounds & Haptics), and drag the Ringer and Alerts slider back and forth a few times. If you don't hear any sound, or if your speaker button on the Ringer and Alerts slider is dimmed, your speaker might need service.

5. If you hear sound, try making a call with your iPhone and turn on speakerphone. On iPad or iPod touch, make a FaceTime call. If you still can't hear, or hear static or crackling, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try to call again later, or from a different location.

Cheers.
