It appears that I didn't emails for most of Thursday and Friday. I am receiving emails now but I'm missing some key emails. How to find those emails?

You can try to install a different mail app and see if it works, or sign into the web interface for your mail provider directly. (So say you use yahoo, sign into yahoo.com via safari and check your mails that way.
you can also poke around in the spam folder, sometimes perfectly good mails get spammed.
