IOS 16.1.2 problems

I have an XS max and as a soon as I updated to iOS 16.1.2, my phone started crashing and restarting on its own. Once it freezes I can’t even force a restart, it restarts on its own. Memory is absolutely not an issue here, I have a 512gb with only 259gb used. The phone goes through this crash mode about every 30 minutes since the 16.1.2 update. I can be in the middle of a phone call, using maps, or some transaction so it is very frustrating and unpredictable where it renders my phone unreliable. Any advice to stop this or ability to restore to the earlier update will be much appreciated!

Hello aslihan64,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We understand that your iPhone restarts on its own at random times and it happens frequently. If you haven't done so yet, take a look at If your iOS or iPadOS device restarts or displays the Apple logo or a spinning gear unexpectedly - Apple Support and try the recommended actions.

Check your software

Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS or iPadOS and that your apps are up to date. If the issue continues after updating your software and apps, check your hardware.

Check your hardware

On an iPhone 6 or later, check your battery health under Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

If your battery doesn't need service, and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch continues to frequently restart or turn off, contact Apple Support.

If your apps quit unexpectedly, learn what to do.

If your device has a frozen screen, doesn't respond, or becomes stuck when you turn it on, learn what to do for iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.

If you need additional help with this issue, contacting Apple Support for guidance would be best. You can reach them directly at Get Support.

Best regards.
