MAC Viruses...Safari Issue?

I know this is some sort of malware issue - but can I get rid of the problem at the source without installing some additional malware software? Using SAFARI for my browser....Thanks!

It's caused by known malware. It's also not a virus, but a Trojan. Those can only get on a Mac by the user downloading downloaded and installed something.

Download and run the free version of MalwareBytes for Mac. It should be able to easily find and remove this particular junk.

It will bug you several times during setup to get the paid version. Just ignore those until you get to the point where you scan the drive.

Once the cleanup is done, you can easily remove MalwareBytes by using the uninstall option within its menus.

It may or may be related to some malware.

First, I recommend that you restart your mac, and see if the problem recurs. It could be just a one-off thing.

It could be that you have some application that is using a lot of memory. Or maybe you have a huge number or tabs open simultaneously. Each will use memory, sometimes a lot of memory.

We are not looking over your shoulder, so we need you to provide information, so that we can ascertain what may be the cause of the problem. To that effect, please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box. The report does not include any private information, as you can check for yourself before posting anything. It will tell us about what software modifications are installed that could be having an impact.

Thanks. Wouldn't complain if a one off :) It is a repetitive pop-up that prevents the user from typing in any field or program. Other folks have complained about it and am looking for a current reply not asking me to run a program to find the source.

It is difficult to help someone who does not want to help themselves. There is a good reason to ask you to post additional information. We have no access to your computer. Posting additional information is a standard troubleshooting approach to any problem.

If you do not want to help us help you I'm afraid it is difficult to proceed.
