Hey I was researching the remedy for this issue and stumbled upon the fix myself. I accessed HomeKit through my iphone and selected home settings. Select speakers and tv access and you will see the password. This is an Apple generated password. Remove the requirement and anyone can use it on your wifi.
Understood hagay,
Do you know if your speaker is HomeKit compatible? If so, we'd recommend adding it to Home with these steps: Add an accessory to the Home app - Apple Support
This way, the iPhone recognizes the speaker as part of the environment.
Cheers!
hi
the point is that when you access the tv with airplay the tv request 4 digit password to make the bonding between the tv and the iphone , but now iphone request the airplay password too contact the speaker , bose support doesn’t recognize this protocol for airplay password, and i didn’t have this problem earlier until i upgraded to ios 15 , the connection was very easy with no problems , way is that problem can’t be solved???
Hello hagay,
It seems like you are trying to use AirPlay with your Bose speaker, right? When you AirPlay, you can use your device to play music on your AirPlay enabled speaker.
You can take a look at this support page by Bose for more information: Unable to select or control Bose product as an AirPlay speaker - Bose Smart Soundbar 900
Regards.
hi i have iphone 13 pro max , when i contact by airplay i see the list below soundbar 900 , i press it but pops up password authentication, there is no password for it not something i could think of to release it, i also read that there is more of me in apple support with this problem like sons speakers and other smart speakers, i had bose soundbar 700 i connected it with airplay 2 and i didn’t had any problem when connect to iphone , i took my soundbar to the dealer lab , then they restored it to manufacture configuration and after a lot of testing they returned it, i contacted it to my system and reconfigured it and still the iphone request a password to connect airplay , with bluetooth connection there’s no problem, i heard that someone used a app to cancel this authentication.
can you help me fix this problem
thanks
hi
i just want to make it clear that i don’t use homekit and don’t want to use this app, i just want to listen to the apple music app, the simple way that you created through airplay with my speaker bose soundbar 900 that i upgraded . apple decided to upgrade airplay to airplay 2 , now my iphone wants password to connect to the speaker.any password combination that i could think of doesn’t work, i think that this is a system error this password authentication request is an error it is not supposed to happen it didn’t happen with any speakers that i have used earlier, maybe ios needs updating to solve this problem, I am very upset that you cannot solve this problem of mine and very disappointed.
Hey hagay,
In your troubleshooting, did you make sure that both the speaker and your iPhone are using the same Wi-Fi network (not the guest, if one is set up)? If they are, try using the password for your Wi-Fi network to see if that is accepted. If they are not using the same network, take a moment to connect them both to the same network and try setting it up again.
If not, since this is a public discussion forum, we recommend reaching out to Bose Support to look into this more with you: Bose Product Support
Thanks and take care.
hi
once again i want to strength my point, i am using the same network, when i am using apple music the airplay connection demand a password authentication to the speaker, no matter what i right , network password, wifi password, apple id password, iphone password, any password that i could think of , the password authentication reopened and requires the password again with no results, , i am the administrator in my network’s house,
Hi hagay,
Thanks for following up. Since this relates to a password or pairing code for a third-party speaker, you'd need to get in contact with their support directly to further look into this. You can check for contact options using this link: Bose Product Support
Cheers.
