Is there any way to turn down the volume of my text notifications independently of the ringtone?

Is there any way to turn down the volume of my text notifications independently of the ringtone? My ringtone is set on the lowest setting (before silent) but my text notifications are extremely loud!! It is very annoying.

Ringtone and notification tone, not the same volume My ringtone on my iPhone 14 Pro Max seems to be louder than the notification or text notifications. To test this I chose the same sound for for my ringtone and text tone. When I tried, both the ringtone is definitely louder than the exact same tone under text notifications. I don’t know why this is when I change the text volume to where I want it. The ringtone is too loud. does anyone have any suggestions how I can adjust this to my knowledge the volume slider is the same for ringer and alerts but yet the volumes when choosing the same sound are in fact different. Thank you.

No, you can’t adjust the volume separately. However, you could always chose, buy or create a text tone that is softer.
