Hi DRH9836,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. When you say keyboard, are you referring to the Magic Keyboard Folio? If so, this article has some steps that may help: Set up and use Magic Keyboard Folio for iPad (10th generation).

Get help

If your iPad doesn't detect your Magic Keyboard Folio or an "Accessory not supported" alert appears on your iPad, make sure that there's no debris or plastic covering on the Smart Connector pins on the keyboard or the Smart Connector on your iPad. Also, try these steps:

  1. Make sure that your iPad and Magic Keyboard Folio are connected and that you have the latest version of iPadOS.
  2. Remove the keyboard from your iPad and then reconnect it.
  3. If your iPad still doesn't detect your Magic Keyboard Folio, restart your iPad.

There was a newer version of iOS just released so updating may help as suggested in the article. If that's not the issue you're having please provide more details.

Take care.
