battery draining excessively after turning off cell service

Hi folks,

I deactivated cell service for my iphone 8. But it has a new battery. I've turned off cell coverage every place I can find. I've turned off location services. I've kept internet and bluetooth on. And it still drains super fast, like overnight.

I've reviewed the old support answers for similar situations and none have been helpful. Is there really no way to correct this issue so that you can continue to use the old iphone for web surfing, etc?

Thanks!

iPhone 8

..bluecork..

Another item to check to see that it's set to Wi-Fi, default

the internet selection, among those harder to find items:

See 'Background App Refresh'. Select; set this, to Wi-Fi.

[Otherwise ~ it looks among options, for Cellular Data.]

Look through all iOS apps, whose options include Cellular.

They too could have different choices; if you are near WiFi.

Could be the battery life isn't fairing well; but my iPhone SE

(1st ed.) shows 95% life, after 16 mo; & never been ran flat.
