Thin Green Line on iMac screen

I saw a post regarding a thin green line appearing after someone did a Bootcamp update and I also have this issue.

I want to sell my 2017 iMac and will disclose the issue but I want to know if the issue will get worse.

iMac 24″, macOS 13.0

Small horizontal lines displaying in my 2021 24-inch iMac My iMac's screen is suddenly showing small horizon lines that occupy half of the screen. There is no any physical damage to the screen and the iMac stays where it is since I bought it in 2021. Has anyone else experienced a similar screen problem? Persistent horizontal lines appear on iMac M1 screen Suddenly, the bottom half of the screen filled with horizontal black lines. The horizontal lines flicker continuously. It occurred while I kept my Mac stationary without moving it at all. It's clearly a defect with the display because it happens without a cause. My iMac only 2 year old. I can't believe that it is a coincidence that it is happening to so many people almost exactly 2 years after purchase.

Prepare the iMac according to this Apple document, What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac - Apple Support, and see if the line remains. It could be a failing GPU.
