iMac screen turns black randomly

Hi,

My iMac is a Late 2012 running on Majave. My screen will randomly go black. Sometimes if I leave it on for a few minutes, the screen will come back. When the screen goes off, the disc drive makes noises? And if I restart it, nothing happens or helps it come back on, but the display does start to make odd noises.

Everything runs just fine, the screen just audibly shuts off. Is anyone able to help?

That sounds like a hardware issue.
