iMac blank screen

My iMac will screen will randomly go blank. Not pitch black like when it is turned off, but the weird blue/black where you can tell the screen is on, just not showing anything.

All of the other answers/possible solutions I have found are for MacBooks not an iMac.

It is updated to the most recent macOS ventura, and isn't even 2 years old yet so I really don't understand why it is doing this all of a sudden. It will do it while I am actively using it as well as sometime during the night when I am not using it as I have to press & hold the power button to turn it back on. Sometimes have to press and hold the power button more than once to get any sort of response.

iMac 27″, macOS 13.3

Re: "iMac blank screen"

You might want to check that you have the newest version of MacOS 13. Eg:What's new in the updates for macOS Ventura - Apple Support

says 13.3.1 is the newest (has bug fixes etc).

If you haven't already tried these:

Apple Support's online (MacOS) articles may help:

Eg: You can check for faulty software or restart your iMac in Safe mode:

(Unnecessary virus checkers, third-party (non-Apple) apps,

even Ad-blockers, or VPN can cause problems)

If your Mac restarts and a message appears – Apple Support

You might want to check with the experts if your less than 2 years old iMac is covered by Apple Care:

Eg: You can enter the serial number to check coverage:

Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support

or

One stop for technical support, Apple hardware service, and software support.  Call Apple Support at 1-800-APLCARE (or use the app)

AppleCare Products - Apple
