I am on OS 10.12.6. Just downloaded Firefox 108.0
Tried everything that support.mozilla suggested (except the suggestions for advanced users). Firefox will not open any websites. Get this message: Unable to connect, An error occurred during a connection to (name of website)
Am at wits end.

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Sys Prefs>Network>highlight the Interface you're using>Advanced>TCP/IP>Configure IPv4: Using DHCP.
If using Wifi, instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
System Preferences>Network>choose interface>Advanced>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for HTTP & HTTPS.
System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

OK, with Wifi enabled did yo do all the settings for Wifi, like drag Wifi to top of list, etc?
All those steps need to be done for the Interface you're using, sorry f that wasn't clear.

The little gear only gives "Duplicate location" and "Rename location" as options. No "Set service order".
I put the newly named interface as the location and it is not connected. I made sure the IPv4 reads Using DHCP.
How do I get the new location connected?
I found "set service order" below the connection list (Ethernet, WiFi etc) I had to turn on my WiFi. The ethernet isn't connected (which is my problem, I think). The WiFi says "no IP address" even tho I selected my WiFi name in Network Name.
How can I get the ethernet connected for the new location?
Yes, I did all that. Even with Wifi enabled, the Wifi doesn't work and the ethernet doesn't connect. Why won't Firefox connect the way Chrome does?
I'm at a loss to try to help further.
