Hey there ajv23,
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, when you mute a notification this would only prevent the notifications from appearing on the Lock Screen, playing a sound, lighting up the screen, or presenting a banner; however, you should still be able to find the notifications in your Notification Center.
For more details, check out this link here: View and respond to notifications on iPhone - Apple Support
- Mute notifications for an app: Swipe left on the notification or group of notifications, tap Options, then tap an option to mute the app’s notifications for an hour or a day. This sends them directly to Notification Center and prevents them from appearing on the Lock Screen, playing a sound, lighting up the screen, or presenting a banner.
To see and hear these notifications again, swipe left on the notification in Notification Center, tap Options, then tap Unmute.
For details on how to access your notifications from the Notification Center, check out this next link here: Use notifications on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Open from Notification Center
Notification Center shows your notifications history, allowing you to scroll back and see what you've missed. There are two ways to see your alerts from the Notification Center:
- From the Lock Screen, swipe up from the middle of the screen.
- From any other screen, swipe down from the center of the top of your screen.
To clear your notification history, tap the Close button
, then tap Clear.
If you don't see any notifications after showing the Notification Center, try swiping up from the middle of the display to roll in your notifications from the bottom of the display. If you already dismissed the notification from the Notification Center, you'll need to wait until another notification is received from the app you muted.
Let us know if that's able to help.
Have a great day!
