Tracking turned of Mac book pro

So I am facing a crisis since Monday. I used my MacBook pro on December 8, 2022, last Thursday.

After that I am unable to locate my MacBook Pro. It had low battery so am sure the battery has died (My greatest regret). I have ransacked the whole house 10 times or more, got CCTV footage of my floor, ours is the only flat on the floor. But it’s all clear and clean. No suspicious entry or exit. I hadn’t taken it out.

Since it’s off, I can’t find it via Find My, by playing sound or even the location to be seen since it’s off due to dead battery. I have given a command to remote lock but that’s pending since the mac hasn’t been turned on (assuming it’s stolen), but again the big question is no one has entered/exited then who and how can it be stolen?: My question is is there any way, any remote chance of tracking it? I have read up a lot and seen that turned off macs cannot be tracked but just trying my luck: any method via serial number, or IP address or anything else?

keeping fingers crossed 🤞🏻 and hoping I get it….

Hello snehal210,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to find your Mac, as the battery has probably run out and doesn't show up for Find My. At this point, we recommend you follow these steps from this Apple resource for this situation If your Mac is lost or stolen:

"If you can't find your Mac or didn't set up Find My
Find My Mac is the only Apple service that can help track or locate a lost Mac. If you didn’t set up Find My Mac before your Mac was lost, or you can’t locate it, these steps might help you protect your data:
1. Change your Apple ID password to prevent anyone from accessing your iCloud data or using other services (such as iMessage or iTunes) from your Mac.
2. Change your passwords for other accounts you use with your Mac, including email, banking, and social media sites like Facebook or Twitter.
3. Report your lost or stolen Mac to local law enforcement. They might request the serial number of your computer. You can find this information on the original box or receipt you received when you purchased your Mac."

Cheers!
