I am getting notifications for an old work email address used as an Apple ID. I no longer need this Apple account because it was only used for work purposes and I no longer work for this company. Is there a way to request this old ID to be deleted so I no longer get these notices?

Read it carefully, such as:
"Make sure that you sign out of all your devices to avoid issues with apps that use your Apple ID account or iCloud. After your account is deleted, you can't sign out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock on your devices. If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted."

How will the Delete Apple ID Account process work if I no longer have access to the email address used as the Apple ID? I will not be able respond to an email sent to the address confirming I requested the ID deletion.
