iMovie can't export a looping movie. The loop feature in iMovie only applies to looping when the movie is played in the timeline. But it is not an embedded loop and it won't carry over on export. A loop needs to be imparted by the player device or app. With the QuickTimePlayer app you can do View/Loop, and the movie will loop when played on the desktop, but the loop won't carry over to other devices.
If your smart TV has a looping option, that might solve it.
Also, you can do an internet search for "loop movie" and there should be some hits that might be helpful toward embedding a loop into a movie. I've just never done it myself.
A workaround would be to export the movie to your desktop and then drag it back into a newly created iMovie project. It will come in as one large clip. Then in the timeline you can do an Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste . . .Edit/Paste ... Edit/Paste, etc. of the movie clip several times in the timeline. Then, when you play the movie the movie will repeat as the playhead movies through the pasted clips. When you export it, you will have a larger file movie for sure, but it will have the effect of a looping movie when played on your smart TV. Of course, it won't be an infinite loop because eventually the clips will play out and the movie will end. However, you can paste in lots of duplicate clips when in iMovie if you want it to loop for a really long time.
