Brit Box don’t have log in bc I subscribe

Been using Apple TV since first Gen and don’t recall such an annoying log in process. Maybe Peacock?

I subscribe via my phone, can see active subscription when I go to Settings: Accounts on the Apple TV itself so I’m logged in to the correct account. But Brit Box app only has option to log in with email address. Which I never used bc I subscribed thru the app. There’s no button to find my sub.

Other suggestions in the forum are “play thru air play.” What? No. That’s ridiculous. The word is escaping me but there is almost always a button that links a sub when you are for ex starting with a new device and have to connect to existing sub. Just need a way to link it without spending 45 mins to watch a silly detective show. Am I missing a diff app or diff way to use this? Thanks!

(Pls don’t search suggested replies and be the apple forum reply guy who tells me to use air play—that’s all I found when I googled. I’m paying for a service and it should work thru the app on Apple TV for $8 a month. Always perplexed by ppl who wait on forums to pounce on questions and provide totally useless canned Apple answers. What are you getting out of that?)

The “find my sub” button should be named something like “Restore Purchases”. Did you see anything like that among its settings or sign-in page? Both devices (iPhone, Apple TV) should have the same Apple ID account active, else it won’t work – verify that.

Else ask BritBox Support how they handle subscriptions through Apple from one device (iPhone) to the next (Apple TV), if not in the recommend way.

Note that Apple TV app Channels are a different type of subscription, and not exchangeable as such with the dedicated content provider in-app subscriptions, nor other types of subscriptions for these services. Apple TV app Channel subscriptions can be watched in the Apple TV app on any of your devices, not in other apps.

Thanks. Logging in with my iCloud details didn’t work. And I have a password manager have been using these apps Apple ecosystem etc etc for decades.

I had to cancel the subscription and start anew using the incredibly clumsy Britbox Apple TV app that doesn’t have auto fill etc. Which means I’m paying twice for December. I mean, whatever, it’s silly, it’s $8, it’s 40 mins of my life. Especially irritating when this company is charging me $8 a month for mostly legacy PBS shows. But my 11 year old likes Hercule Poirot so it’s worth double paying, I guess.

But yes I will reach out to the company.
