Why can't i press my side right button to restart my phone. the touch screen does not even work...

Try a forced restart.
• Press and quickly release the volume up button
• Press and quickly release the volume down button
• Press and hold the side button.
• When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

The operative word here is QUICKLY; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky.
unfortunately, the forced restart still does not work. I cannot even touch my screen... is there another way?
