Seems you may need to restart your device, or Mac, for the iCloud change to be evident


Eg: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

or

On Mac: Click black Apple icon in top menu bar,

and choose "Restart" from the drop-down menu that opens

Wait for Mac to restart, and sign in again.
