Undelivered message

My phone was never turned off, or on DND or anything else and I received the message but on her end it still says undelivered. How can I prove to her that I did not turn my phone off or anything else with it? And what time will it show it was delivered, when it first was sent or when it is actually delivered? Mine showed at 11:52 and she said it still said undelivered in the morning.

I have to wonder if her cell lost service immediately after she hit send.

Anywho... Send her a screenshot of the thread as seen from your phone.

For further proof of what time you got her message, touch the screen and drag your finger to the left. That motion will reveal the times. While holding the screen to the left, grab a screenshot and send her the screenshot showing the times.

Everything that I've talked about her would prove delivery.

Is delivery the issue or is when you actually read the text the issue?

If her complaint is that you haven't read her text, then that's another deal.

You need to have "Read Receipts" enabled on your phone or at least enabled for her.

I hope that you find this helpful ;-)

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities Hope_2022,

We can certainly understand your concern and can help provide some insight.

We recommend checking out these steps for more information on what to do if you're having issues sending and receiving messages.

" An iPhone showing a message that wasn't delivered in Messages

If you see a red exclamation point

If you try to send a message and you see  Exclamation mark icon with an alert that says Not Delivered, follow these steps:

  1. Check your network connection.
  2. Tap  Exclamation mark icon, then tap Try Again.
  3. If you still can’t send the message, tap  Exclamation mark icon, then tap Send as Text Message. Messaging rates may apply. Contact your carrier for more information.

You can set up Messages so that it automatically tries to send messages as an SMS when iMessage isn't available. Go to Settings > Messages, and turn on Send as SMS.

A green message bubble in Messages on iPhone

If you see a green message bubble

If you see a green message bubble instead of a blue one, then that message was sent using MMS/SMS instead of iMessage. There are several reasons for this:

  • The person that you sent the message to doesn't have an Apple device.
  • iMessage is turned off on your device or on your recipient’s device. To check if iMessage is turned on for your device, go to Settings > Messages > iMessage.
  • iMessage is temporarily unavailable on your device or on your recipient’s device.
  • You might need to update your settings for Messages after you set up a new device.

Learn the difference between iMessage and MMS/SMS messages

Go to Settings > Messages > iMessage to see what phone numbers and email addresses you can select for your iMessage account.

If you receive messages on one device but not the other

If you have an iPhone and another iOS or iPadOS device, like an iPad, your iMessage settings might be set to receive and start messages from your Apple ID instead of your phone number. To check if your phone number is set to send and receive messages, go to Settings > Messages, and tap Send & Receive.

If you don't see your phone number, you can link your iPhone number to your Apple ID so you can send and receive iMessages from your phone number. You can also set up Text Message Forwarding so you can send and receive MMS and SMS messages on all of your Apple devices. "

These steps will help ensure your device is working with ease and can fix common issues like the ones you’re experiencing.

Kindest regards!
