Let Apple watch with LTE manage the phone calls

Hi all ☺️

Is there any way to let my Apple watch ultra with LTE receive phone calls without bridging onto my iPhone when my phone is near when receiving a call?

When i am answering a phone call on my watch, the iphone seems to become the main driver of that call.

I can see the logo (phone) at the top left corner of my watch when I am anwsering a call.

I want LTE and I want my airpods to only be managed by the watch.

is this a possibility ?

The best experience I had with my Apple Watch and Airpods was when it was not paired to my iPhone. It was a blessing.

My phone calls on the LTE Apple Warch were amazing, consistent and reliable.

Since i got another iPhone14pro, now people are complaining about cut offs.

When im to far away from the iPhone but in the same house, calls quality get a hit….

Never happened with an unpaired Apple Watch best experience ever using LTE.

Am i missing or missunderstanding something here?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch

Hi Randy and thank you for chiping in.

Yep turning the iPhone off seems to be the only option.

I had my watch paired with a previous iPhone then sold the phone.

With the LTE on, i was able to use my watch as a daily driver and realized after 2 months that it was the best Apple Watch experienced I had in years in terms of call quality, airpods pairing, Siri, sms and I barely used rhe other functionalities besides sleep tracking. Not one glitch at all.

Magical.

Now that I have received my iPhone 14 pro… glitches are back.

I wish we had an extra option to go solo with LTE and when its time to synch the data to the iphone, i would toggle the option off…
