Multiple connected devices

So I am a plow truck operator and I like to use my AirPods for receiving text or phone calls but is it possible for me to use my AirPods to receive text and calls but have my phone connected to my truck playing music at the same time?

HomePod mini intercom won’t speak to iPad or iphone My iPad and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network in my home. No. Only one Bluetooth audio device can be active at a time.
