I recently installed a banking app on my iPhone 12 Pro running IOS 16.1 and have enabled faceID, which works fine. I wanted to use the browser on my Mac to access the account, but there was no record of the user name or password in the keychain.
Am I missing something here? Has something changed? this used to work.

It is possible that the app in question is not communicating properly with iCloud, or that iCloud Keychain isn't supported by that app. If this is only occurring with the app you're referring to, it would be best to contact the app developer for assistance:

I'm not sure I was clear enough describing the problem. When I set up the app on my iPhone and input user credentials and set up Face ID, it appears that the information, while stored somewhere, isn't accessible through the Passwords menu pick in Settings.
Why is this? I'm pretty sure I used a default Strong Password, so I have no clue what it is.
Again, this is new behavior and does not help me do things like maintaining the app or using across platforms.
What changed and how do I get the information back?
And, yes, password storage is correctly set up across my devices.
It is probably somewhere in keychain, but not necessarily indexed under the name you expect it to be. An app name doesn’t necessarily relate to the name of a website.
searched extensively using the app name, variations on the app name, the company name, my user ID. No Joy.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be resetting a PW.
Then the app did not authorize saving the login information. This can happen with some financial services apps.
