Mac mini won't boot

My 2011 Mac Mini won't boot despite various attempts to fix. It gets stuck right about here (see picture), then goes to a gray screen, and nothing else happens.

Here is what I've tried:

  • Verified keyboard works ok
  • Disconnected peripherals
  • Recovery mode: can choose a network, it works on it for a while, then gets to the screen above, goes gray
  • Diagnostic utility: got here, ran the extensive diagnostic, everything ok
  • Startup manager: was able to get here
    • Time machine back up: gets to the screen above, goes gray
    • USB OS re-install: gets to the screen above, goes gray
  • Reset PRAM/NVRAM
  • Safe mode: apple logo pops up, but right about when the progress bar appears, it reboots
  • Single user mode: can get here, works ok, but I'm not that much of a whiz to know how to use it

Thank you.

I have a similar problem, but, it just keeps rebooting over and over again and I have tried the same things that you have done as well. I have a 2018 Mac Mini with a 512GB SSD with is permanently soldered to the motherboard. I did upgrade it the latest operating system last week so there maybe a software issue with certain macs. Apple might be working on a patch to solve this issue and have not said anything.
