I cannot send or receive e-mails in my 365 for Mac account

Suddenly I can no longer receive or send e-mails on my Microsoft 365 account. I think the issue is password related. I have a Macbook Air

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Can receive but not send email Ever since the most recent update of my MacBook Air 11 to macOS Monterey, one of my gmail accounts will not allow me to send emails. I can receive them all day long, but when I try to send I get the error message to re-enter my password. Then it rejects the password. This happens to be my business email account. My other personal gmail account and my personal (old) aol account work just fine. The email password works on my iPhone and other devices. Before deleting the mailbox and re-adding it I was hoping there could be a simpler answer? Thanks for any advice!

cannot get or receive emails I have not been able to send or receive emails since last night. I have spent ages trying to rectify this. Told on MacBook air that blue yonder is offline. Checked IMAP and SMTP and no luck. was advised to check if user name and password were correct which they are. Virginmedia has asked me to log into their site again but it is proving difficult. Cannot get emails there either but not sure how long this has been going on as I rarely use it. I am a non technical older person but this is frustrating

"mail" usage I used to access my gmail account through mail application on dock of my desk-top Mac. Since the end of May, I can only access to my gmail account through my google account on Firefox and it works well. If I try to use “mail” on the desktop, it no longer works as before. The emails in the mailbox would not updated and I can’t send out email as before. When I tried to send a message out, a pop-up box shows: “Cannot send message using the server Gmail, application-specific password required. Also It shows ‘Gmail(Offline)’. I had the 2 step verification turned on. I have a Mac OS X version10.9.5 [Email Edited by Moderator]
