An iPhone 6 can't be updated beyond 12.5.6, it doesn't have the hardware needed to run anything higher.
If you need a higher iOS version, you will have to purchase a newer phone.

Again true. But the post of yours I was responding to, suggested a person with an iPhone 7, which is running iOS 10 - 12 would be offered iOS 15, may not be true. Often, people who don't update their iPhone for a couple years, skipping lots of updates, need to update their iPhone using a computer.
