Mic volume too low on CarPlay on Ilx-w650

Alpine iLX-w650 CarPlay car microphone volume too low

Using an iPhone 12,13,14. Apple Music and all apps work great on CarPlay but voice calling audio is too low and unusable. Siri can’t hear me even when I talk super loud. Works great with iPhone 6 & 8. Changed all settings on the unit (eg increased microphone volume But no change. Any ideas?

Ended up being a bad microphone. Crutchfield sent a replacement and it seems to work fine for now.
