Can I connect the older model trackpad (with replaceable batteries) to my 2019 iMac? My iMac came with the rechargeable trackpad which has since died on me. I am running on Ventura 13.0.1

Yes, you should be able to. Just pair it and try.
My iMac doesn't seem to recognize it. The trackpad's light flashes so I know it's working (trying to connect?)
If it isn't recognized then I suppose you have found your answer. Have you considered just getting the correct trackpad. Macsales.com sells them or of course I'm sure Apple still does too.
FWIW, I can connect the Trackpad with batteries to my iMac Pro running Ventura 13.1. Perhaps you might try updating Ventura.

Welcome. It may take some time but if you go to System Settings > Bluetooth it should show in the list so you can connect it.
