Volume randomly gets too loud & cannot turn it down

This problem has been going on for a while but to fix it temporarily you can plug in your headphones or put in your airpods then unconnect them and youll be able to turn up & down the volume again.

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 16

Try a force restart:


Force restart iPhone


  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
