Why can't I download Amazon on my macBook Air

You can simply bookmark the Amazon site and use your browser to order from there. There is a shopping assistant app for Amazon in the app store for Macs.

Sorry? What do you mean by "download Amazon"? Amazon is a company, not something you can download...

Are you perhaps referring to the kindle app for Mac? Or maybe something else...?
