I need my daughter's Apple ID password in order to suprise her with a new phone for Christmas

I'm trying to upgrade my daughter's phone as a surprise for Christmas. The cell store tells me I need her Apple ID & password to initiate the trade in. Is there a way for me to access this info without asking her (and potentially giving away the surprise)? She is on my family group if that helps
