Books app iOS 16 Page Numbers

Why is the page number so huge when reading any book in the Apple books app on my iPad Air 5? It doesn't matter what theme or font size I use.

I am struggling with the page number feature on iPhone iOS16 as well. There doesn’t seem to be any way to hide it or change it. This poorly designed new version is driving me to the more customizable Kindle app.

Thank you. I just did the force restart and it didn’t change anything, unfortunately. Am I the only one with this problem?

You're the first one I have seen posting about it. Try offloading the app and downloading it again.

I knew I couldn’t be the only one. I don’t understand why Apple doesn’t at least acknowledge there is an issue.
