I’m giving my iPhone 12 pro to a family member. Can they purchase an apple care plan for the iPhone 12 Pro?

An Apple Care Plus protection plan can be subscribed within 60 days from the original date of purchase.

Can I continue to pay the monthly Apple care plan that I currently have, for the iPhone 12 Pro, that I give to a family member, thereby keeping the Apple care plan?
