I imported all of my CDs into Apple Music. I was considering subscribing to Apple Music until I read that all of my AIFF music files would be automatically reformatted and compressed into Apple’s lossless AAC file format. I’m not willing to accept that. I was tortured by that when I subscribed to iTunes Match.
Is there a way to subscribe to Apple Music but allow my higher quality AIFF files to remain in Music?

Create a music library and import your music. Don't use iTunes Match. Subscribe to Apple Music. As long as you don't use the matching service your own files will be unaffected.
That said, when I looked at the pros and cons of Apple’s new Music service one of the cons listed was the automatic reformatting AIFF to AAC.
One of the features of the Music service is sharing your music across devices. To do that they use a version of iTunes Match. Turn it off. Problem solved.
