Hi, any idea when will Apple enable T9 calling - Typing the name of your contact from keypad instead of going through Contacts. Anyone moving from Android to iOS, this is one really helpful functionality in the OS, why Apple doesn’t provide this?

Absolutely never. They haven’t in 15 years, and they aren’t going to start now. T9 is SO second millennium! Almost back to horse-and-buggy days.
Apple instead has a Favorites list; just put the contacts you call regularly in Favorites, then tap Phone, Favorites, and the name of the person you want to call. Much faster than T9. Or say “Hey Siri, Call Sally"
But if you really want to live in the previous century there are several T9 keyboard apps in the app store.

Open Contacts (it’s right next to the dial pad icon) start typing in the search bar. When you find the contact you want to all press and hold on the name and select “Call” from the pop up menu. An almost identical set up steps except you get to use a real alphabetic keyboard.
Thank you for your response. This is something that is natural to most Android users, open dial pad and type alphabets to pull out the contact but I understand your point as well. It works great for those contacts you don’t call often too. Alas, it’s a change I will have to make and get used to then. Cheers
