How to get rid of the grey widget on the bottom of my lockscreen

I have a grey bar on the bottom of my lock screen which looks like it may be a widget but I never put it there and can’t get rid of it. How can I get rid of it?

Hi Ai992,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities!

We can definitely understanding wanting to get rid of the grey widget you're seeing. Since noticing it, has your iPhone been restarted? Restarting can help resolve many unexpected issue we may face with our devices.

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power off slider appears.

2. Drag the slider and wait about 30 seconds.

3. Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears to power it back on. Once back on, test to see if this continues.

You should also confirm that your iOS is up to date since they contain many bug fixes to help your device function as expected. Check out how to update here: Update your iPhone or iPad- Apple Support.
