I recently had to create a string of new accounts and received an error about reaching a maximum number of "hide my email" accounts. The feature instructed me to "try again later." As I'm generating accounts for a large group of people, can you please let me know if there is a hard cap on the number that can be generated and/or when I can "try again later" and be successful? Thank you!

It sounds like you may be having problems creating new Apple IDs. Here's an article that may help: If you see a Could Not Create Apple ID or Could Not Set Up iCloud message. There's great information about not being able to create an Apple ID or not being able to set up iCloud message.
Regarding a cap on "Hide My Email", Learn more about Hide My Email and iCloud+ states:
"You can create as many email addresses as you need."
