Mac Screenshot, how to save as when you shoot it?
I can take screenshots, but then have to go to the desktop, to change the name. Is there a way to shoot it and save as, it on a MacBook pro?

You can press the command+shift+5 keys on your keyboard to open the Screen Shot menu bar. From there you can change the behavior of the screen shot when it is taken.
You can set it to automatically save to a specific location or folder by clicking on the "Options" menu in the tool bar, an selecting a different location.
If you select "Preview" the screen shot will open in the Preview App, and you can save it form there anywhere you want to.
Hi obg65 (Bobby),
Also Helpful:
Press Shift-Command-5 (or use Launchpad) to open Screenshot and display the tools.
Click which tool choice you want to use to capture or record. Click ‘Options’ - there you can designate which file your screenshot will save to.
Merry Christmas Everyone
As mentioned above by Grant, the Save As option can be accessed if you set the "Save to" option to Preview in the Options menu. Then you can choose to Save or Save As (by holding the Option key) from the Preview app's File Menu.
if you set it to open it in Preview, use Preview's Save or Save as function to specify where to save and what to name it.
Thanks obg65, but I was looking for a save as option so I could name it before it goes to the desktop. I did not see that in the optons?
Thank you Phil0124 & Grant Bennet-Alder
I've got it now. Y'all are very helpful folks. Merry Christmas to you all.
