screen shoot on mac

I am taking screenshot but it is ot being saved on the desktop in the macbook pro
Could you help me in solving the problem

you can use the "shift-command-5" keyboard shortcut to bring up the recording controls, and then choose "options".
and then in those options, look at your "save to" location and change it to "desktop".
