Charging ipad in the magic keyboard case
If i close the keyboard while the ipad is still there and I use the case’s port to charge the device, does it still charges the battery?

The Magic Keyboard for iPad has a USB-C port in the spine of the cover. This port is intended to provide a pass-through power (not data) connection for charging the iPad. When connected to the iPad Power Adapter, the iPad should charge - whether or not the the case/keyboard is open of closed.

Hello Stingray517,
The article you came from, Set up and use Magic Keyboard for iPad - Apple Support, has information on how the Magic Keyboard and the charging port works:
You can charge your iPad as usual by connecting your USB-C cable to the USB-C port on your iPad. Or you can connect your USB-C cable to the USB-C port on your Magic Keyboard. Your Magic Keyboard doesn't need to be charged.
We would suggest connecting a charging cable, closing the lid, and testing to see if the iPad charges.
Have a good day.
